Saturday was Elliot's first soccer game. It was rainy/misty and about 55 deg F, so not the best of conditions. His team is the Kickin' Chickens. They don't keep score, so we don't know that Elliot's team lost 4 to 3. He did score his team's third goal which you can see in the video below (after the pictures). Elliot's goal is toward the end of the video. His reaction after scoring is priceless...joy and excitement.

From an article titled "E. coli outbreak traced to spinach in 8 states, including Michigan" by Andrew Bridges in the Detroit News:
An outbreak of E. coli in eight states has left at least one person dead and 50 others sick, federal health officials said Thursday in warning consumers not to eat bagged fresh spinach. The outbreak of the sometimes deadly bug killed one person in Wisconsin, said Dr. David Acheson, of the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition. The outbreak has sickened people -- eight of them seriously -- in Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Michigan, New Mexico, Oregon and Utah as well. FDA officials do not know the source of the outbreak, other than it appears to be linked to bagged spinach. "We're advising people not to eat it," Acheson said.

Finn frequently talks about his "concert." We haven't really been able to figure out what he was talking about. He talks about it like it's an event that has already happened or will happen soon. I think he said it's in South Dakota. He frequently talks about things that happened at his concert. We were at church Sunday night when someone working in the office bumped her head and passed out. 911 was dialed, and a firetruck and ambulance came to the church building. I asked Finn if there are firemen at his concert. He looked at me funny and said "It's just my imagination." He said something about not being able to go into his dream. I agreed but said that we could pretend. Driving home I was telling this story to Lisa, and Elliot said, "Maybe we're all in God's dream. He knows what we're going to say and do, so maybe we're in his dream." We all got a kick out of that.

Week 1 of fantasy football went well for me. I didn't have high expectations (since I was pretty clueless about the whole process beforehand), and they sank even lower when I realized that I had started an inactive player (Steve Smith) because church and the Chinese buffet kept me away from home until well after kick-off. I ended the first week with 20% more points than the next highest team in our league of ten, thanks in large part to Kurt Warner. It can only go down hill from here, but... TOOT TOOT!
